Socially Useful Productive Work (SUPW)

“Abled does not mean enabled. Disabled does not mean less abled.” ― Khang Kijarro Nguyen

Students of Class 8 participated in an outreach programme as part of Socially Useful Productive Work (SUPW) by visiting Asha Niketan, on 09 March 2018.

Asha Niketan – FMR India is an affiliated member of L’Arche, it is a place which makes a difference in the lives of differently-abled people by creating an environment which empowers each person to develop and share his or her gifts.

Students accompanied by Staff spent an hour observing the community members engaged in their workshops viz. candle making, bamboo craft, loom work, paper bags and door mats etc., which was followed by an interactive session with a member of their staff - Mr Paul, who briefed the students about the vision of the organisation, work and challenges faced whilst trying to make a difference in the lives of the differently-abled people..
